Scattered heavy showers now developing in a line from mid Wales/SW Midlands/Winchester (along a surface trough where SE winds are meeting SW/WSW winds). These should increase in coverage and intensity this afternoon as they push NEwards.

Yep torrential rain just reported in Reigate, Surrey from a cell forming over Box Hill

Working just by Docklands. Can see two heavy rain cells over towards Barking. Another developing dark area overhead but no rain yet.

Looks clear to the west at the moment.

No thunder to report just yet either. Things are certainly going off though, and quickly too.

Gone very dark now to our West but according to the radar it's not electrified.

Edit: a couple of sferics now showing on metoffice in that cell heading towards us

The skies to my south are looking rather juicy at present, those 3 cells just entering south essex I assume.

Very humid here. Eyeing that cell that's popped between Welshpool and Shrewsbury. Not sure it'll reach here, but it's a promising sign.

Just getting grazed by these cells as they move through just west of here, plenty of thunder and the odd flash of lightning, quite a bit of low level scud flying about too and its nice to be on the SE edge of a storm for a change.

Mean wind is westerly, with inflow know pulling scud in from the south east.

I would imagine Braintree/markstey & colchester are getting a fair hammering from this lot.

Not the worst/best storm ever lol...finally a few sparks & loud rumbles made their presence felt! apres storms, it still felt pleasant enough, temps still hovering in the high teens category, sun out again - guess that is it for the timebeing and as the recent heat finally dwindles to pastures new our wx returns back to a more temperate category.Nice whilst it lasted mind.
