Does seem a bit odd as other local maxes are about 27.5C tops.. ca only be a local effect if so but generally Cromdale is an accurate station
It matters of course because of the all time Scottish record

Hi Guys - Just to clarify: 29.9c was recorded on my Davis VP2 (2.29pm) I left it a couple of hours before I opened the Stevenson screen, which peaked lower at 29.0c, which failed by a tenth to set a new record. As a Met Office Climate Station this would not normally be reported until 0900UTC tomorrow, but I've e-mailed the Met Office to advise, and I expect 29.0 to be confirmed. (Grantown on Spey also recorded over 28 today)

(apologies for bold and capitals, IMO it needs recognition!)
22.3c at BALTASOUND, the most northerly weather station in the country.

Looks legit, not an anomalous 1hr reading.
Consider Lerwicks annual absolute high is a mere 23.4c, and Fair Isle only 20.2c
Fair Isle was only 0.1c short of their May Record too. Unfortunately, Lerwick has been offline most the day, but was 17.0c at 8am.
