so it would seem
http://www.weatherli...mmary&headers=1

around 3c higher than nearby Aviemore
http://www.weatherca...obsid/3063.html

and probably 5c more than Braemar

Well, according to this:

http://www.weatherli...=main&headers=0

30c at 14.49pm

(which I assume to be the rounded up figure

http://www.strathspe...o.uk/index.html

Hmmm, given it's 3c higher than Aviemore I would question that figure

Not downloaded the max yet, but currently 27.1c so that's 4 out of the past 5 days I've recorded above 27c

Max 29.9C at Cromdale, Strathspey

Does seem a bit odd as other local maxes are about 27.5C tops.. ca only be a local effect if so but generally Cromdale is an accurate station

It matters of course because of the all time Scottish record

Cromdale going to have to be quality checked by UKMo I think, other maxes locally are 2-3C lower..

Heathrow was 27.6C

Hi Guys - Just to clarify: 29.9c was recorded on my Davis VP2 (2.29pm) I left it a couple of hours before I opened the Stevenson screen, which peaked lower at 29.0c, which failed by a tenth to set a new record. As a Met Office Climate Station this would not normally be reported until 0900UTC tomorrow, but I've e-mailed the Met Office to advise, and I expect 29.0 to be confirmed. (Grantown on Spey also recorded over 28 today)

The sea breeze was so cold at Borth/ Aber today that people were abandoning the beach at around 2pm...so I was told.

A very respectable indeed 26C - slightly less breeze than yesterday and as the evening temps gradually fell, it was still hovering circa 70F around 21.00hrs.Beautiful.

POSSIBLY THE MOST REMARKABLE TEMPERATURE OF THIS WARM SPELL
(apologies for bold and capitals, IMO it needs recognition!) Posted Image

22.3c at BALTASOUND, the most northerly weather station in the country.

http://www.metoffice...her_graphs.html
Looks legit, not an anomalous 1hr reading.

Consider Lerwicks annual absolute high is a mere 23.4c, and Fair Isle only 20.2c

Fair Isle was only 0.1c short of their May Record too. Unfortunately, Lerwick has been offline most the day, but was 17.0c at 8am.
