Mating season starts for damselflies

Apologies if this isn't the right place to post things like this! Was out walking and saw large red damselflies mating for the first time this year in the May sunshine. Snapped a voyeuristic shot!

Remarkably, the female is missing most of her abdomen!!

Saw a lot of this going on on the Thames at Lechlade today....
