Rainfall Reports - 2nd to 4th June 2012

Currently recorded 36.2mm in Coalville for the 3rd June (from 0000Z to 2220Z) and 40.0mm storm total since 210, but 0Z on 2nd June. Still raining!

We're not that far from, but have more elevation than Coleshill... seems we're about the wettest spot today! 24 hour totals to 1800Z:

23.4 mm here so far since 00z on the 2nd.

Storm total of 43.8mm in the 28 hours between 21Z on the 2nd and 01Z on the 4th...

I'm only 9 miles from Leek and slightly lower (209m ASL) but only averaged 13.15mm yesterday. Suprised at the difference

34mm measured here this morning in the 24 hours to 9am......rain was especially persistent and often heavy from 5 to 9pm but I notice quite a bit less was recorded at Brize Norton some 12 miles west. The 48 hour total here is 46mm.

0000Z on the 2nd to 1300z 4th rainfall total here = 4.7mm

All fell during hours of darkness.

Realise there was also 1.5mm I recorded between 8 and 10am yesterday and had not included so the 48 hour total was actually an impressive 47.5mm

I notice a similar event total (45mm) at a private WS about 3 miles away in Oxford

It looks as if we were on a a heavy band of rain just north of the brighter, warmer zone yesterday late pm
