I live about a mile inland from the coast and high up in a tower block. I cannot see out the windows as they are now like frosted glass with the salt carried on the winds.

Earlier this evening and this morning before I went out to work, the wind was shaking the building to the extent that the lights hanging from the ceiling were swaying a little. It's a weird feeling sitting in a chair and feeling the building moving. It's a bit like sea sickness.

The highest wind gust I recorded on my van mounted anemomomomometer while out working was 49mph at 13.08 near Brighton Marina.
