Surprised there's no thread up yet for this. Some active storms now running NW to SE through the vale of York.

Just had a smashing thunderstorm pass through here, the best and longest for a few years.
Started around 1255 and ended around 1350 UTC. Very heavy rain with hail, and a maximum rain rate of 82.7mm/hr at 1321 UTC.
Rain total so far 15.3mm.

Me too...A Convective Outlook was posted yesterday for this? Some prolific lightning been underway Yorkshire all afternoon.

Thunderstorm line just east of York looks to be very severe electrically with rainfall radar returns of of 100mm+ per hour suggesting heavy hail.
