Just came on to start this thread, glad already done! 15 minutes ago, went outside for a quick
ciggy before bed, rain had stopped, cloud quite messy, then a sudden big flash out of nowhere with blue tint, thunder heard 12 miles away approximately. Nothing since, although in bed so may be missing flashes

Lightning cloud to cloud seen while I was looking out the window.

Late report 0330Z woke to the sound of very heavy rain, just as it finished a bright flash of lightning and thunder.

Just seen lightening to my SE - between Northampton and MK. Very dark band of cloud moving though the sky with lots of dark cloud forming and flowing up into this band.

Had a chance to look at the cell which has moved off to my NE, definite rotation observed.

Worth chasing this if anyone is near south Northampton.

Couple of heavy showers in the last hour in Wakefield. The second one produced a loud bang of thunder.

Palacefields, Runcorn 14:00 BST

Heavy shower in progress but the trailing edge is now approaching. No sign of electrical activity and no sferics audible on long wave - although my QTH is electrically noisy.

A sferic near Kerry Head a couple of hours ago.

The centre of the depression is right near SW Ireland now. A slow moving, almost coiling, shower dumped 15.1mm on Valentia in the hour up to Noon.
