Today was the coldest July maximum in my records back to 1995 at 14.4°C. It is now also the wettest 7 day period in any summer, and also the cloudiest and coolest!

I'm struggling to keep up with the number of records I'm breaking this summer!
Today was the coldest July maximum in my records back to 1995 at 14.4°C. It is now also the wettest 7 day period in any summer, and also the cloudiest and coolest!

Same here - max also 14.4c. Heating has been on and off all day, not just for the chill in the air, but to get rid of the damp feeling.
Bournemouth airport now up to 173% (as of 1800 today) of it's average rainfall for the whole of the month of July, and it's only the 7th. This follows a June which saw over 250% of June rainfall.

Dorset, particularly the Dorchester area has seen an hour or 2 of heavy rain judging by the radar.

A good inch of rain today but as the generic ambient temp rises in this part of the globe at this time of year can we not expect even more intense rainfall events if this trend (if you can call it that) continues?
