After some relief in the last days, at least in center and northern parts of the country and showers in some areas that locally exceeded 50 mm in short time, another north african tropical wave it's on the way. From tomorrow until Wednesday the entire country will be affected. Highs around the country will exceed 35 degrees over wide areas, with peaks around 41oC in the extreme south on Tuesday. Lows will range between 12 in the depressions and 27oC over the hills exposed to foehn.

Yes, it's an historic period for us.
Some records of heat and drought were surpassed in July. An article translated in Google translate, it's not so good but I think is understandable:

Yesterday Miercurea Ciuc, one of the 2 cities named "Pole of Cold" in Romania, has set a new high temperature record for the second time this year: 35,8C.
At another ~ 8 stations all time records were established today. It's an remarcable heat wave that already lasted for over one month.
But in contrast I noticed that UK region is quite well below average.

Moldova reported its highest temperature of the summer yesterday, 42.4 ºС at Fălești, about 30km from the border with Romania which in fact seems to be a new national record high beating 41.5 °C at Camenca, Transnistria in 2007. There was a 41.9 °C recorded at Slobozia (Slobodzya), Transnistria in 2007 but this is not mentioned in the report and was beaten anyway yesterday.

Quote

Record!
