OK due to summer max challenge commitments, I wasn`t going to do a Andulucia v Attica thread this year so here is a small battle between Elefsina and Sevilla which has been in the past a very close battle in the past

At the moment it stands at 1 each in August 2010 first image posted below Elefsina won on the smallest of margins, last year which saw a 4 month battle (second image posted below) Seville manged to just pip Elefsina, so here we are 2012 for August whose going to nail it? 3rd image is this years. Let the battle commence! Posted Image

Also Ian its a pity you didnt do a mean monthly temps trial for the whole of summer at least for Greece.Heat will catch up again in the next few days in Greece and given an extremely hot June and July I believe that the summer of 2012 will probably be the warmest Greek summer ever in terms of mean monthly temps. It will be long before any stations outside Greece will manage to beat the probable records we are to see.

Just to say that Thiseio in Athens had a June simple mean of 28.5C and I am expecting a record simple mean for July close to 31.5C and if August continues in the same path we are talking obviously about the warmest summer ever in Greece and Europe actually...

Yes well unfortunately the summer max challenge, the daily extremes in Europe alone can take up to 2 or 3 hours of my day, then i have the UK annual challenge which i keep falling behind on, least that finishes at the end of this month. I am considering an autumn heat thread but for holiday destinations so perhaps mainly resorts really, this could help a few people decided that are either on a budget or prefer it less hot, or hot when choosing to go abroad in the autumn. For once the hottest doesnt have to be the best for some people, not sure whether to use just max temps or mean max/min temps or whether to go with it at all yet. Thoughts?

If i am to do this it would probably be from 15th September to 15th November and the more i think about it, especially through ease is to just use the maximum temperatures and in a similar format to the summer one, with say 6 resorts from France,Spain,Portugal, Greece and Italy and some wildcards, maybe even throw in a reort from Cyprus and Turkey and what i would like to do is spread them around a bit so they are not all concentrated around the same area of each country. Variety is the spice and all that! B)

Despite Sevilles high maxes, Elefsina takes an even bigger lead due to it high minimums and gets a further 0.2C in front

http://www.wetter24....bsid/16718.html

I shall alter it to 37C when i get home from work tonight, cheers mate, thanks for your pm, have not had a chance to reply, been a manic day yesterday lol

Well as it stands after 8 days you would never think these two cities were so close in summers past. Elefsina is wiping the floor with Sevilla at the moment!

Well the recent hot spell in Andalucia is helping Seville fight back but they have a hell of alot to do, especially Elefsinas high minimums helping their mean temperature
