I think you must of been mixing it up with Thiseio too Pit. Seville was in fact hotter in 2010 but only just, so as you can see they are very close, it would be good to see all the figures for this summer then do a summer mean for the last 3 years

2010 Summer means

Seville June 24.86C
Elefsina June 25.45C

Seville July 30.24C
Elefsina July 28.95C

Seville August 30.65C
Elefsina August 30.65C

Seville JJA Mean 28.58C

Well we pretty much have the figures.Elefsina for August worst case scenario will be 30.2C and Seville 29.2C.

So we have

2010

Seville JJA Mean 28.58C
Elefsina JJA Mean 28.35C

2011
Seville`s JJA Mean = 28.33C
Elefsina`s JJA Mean = 27.65C

2012

Seville`s JJA aprox Mean = 27.9C
Elefsina`s JJA aprox Mean = 29.4C

Overall 3 year period approximately
Elefsina`s JJA Mean = 28.47C
Seville`s JJA Mean = 28.27C

The winning factor for Elefsina is this year's extremely hot summer.The current heatwave experienced in Greece will also further help Elefsina maintain the 3year lead as there is no heatwave on the cards for Seville till the end of August

I think Elefsina has managed the 30.0C mean.It should be around 30.02C with today's temps...

So If my calculations are correct and with today's temperatures for both Seville and Elefsina, we have the airport of Elefsina beating the airport of San Pablo for the 3 year period in terms of summer means


Elefsina 2010-12 summer mean: 28.47C
Seville 2010-12 summer mean: 28.25C

a 0.22C difference between the two airports..

Ian could you check if I am ok with the decimals?

Well Elefsina came in with an August mean of 30.04C, very impressive, HNMS may have the figure slightly higher as 2 readings for the maximums on the 4th and 27th were based on hourly data, as no maximum were given.

Pit I will check all the data later for you I am sure you have probably got it right though
