0.9mm here from a brief shower overnight 2nd/3rd. Much more dry weather this last 2 weeks than most of June/July, and looking much more settled this month.

Average for the month here is 61.8mm.

Very different to the last two months in the first week of August here - largely dry and bright!

A light shower overnight on 5th/6th has increased my monthly total to 2.4mm, or just 17.1% of average for the first week of August!

Makes a change for the first week of a summer month here in 2012 to be below average for rainfall! 6.8 mm or 69% of the normal to the 7th, but with 5 rain days out of 7 mostly in the form of showers and a couple of those nighttime only, so not so bad.

Two weeks in and it continues very dry here for August. What a turn around!

To 1700 on the 14th I'm on 8.4mm, which is 30% of average to this date.

A first fortnight of a month this summer with below average rainfall

Total rainfall of 20.2 mm which is 84% of the normal to the 14th, this despite a prolonged downpour on the 12th/13th

Agreed, another wet spell through first half of August. To the 19th we have had 98.2mm compared to the August monthly average of about 75mm. Maximum daily fall is 14.0mm (most of that in about 15 minutes). Dunkeswell average is similar whilst Liscombe on Exemoor is less. Mainly a month of short and sharp showers interspered with fog and drizzle!

Total of 40.2 mm so far in August at my place of work up to 19th, probably close to average; only 12.7 mm fell in the period from 1st to 14th August.

80.4 mm to date in nearby Exeter with only 4 completely dry days. More rain than July but still less than half of June!
