Plenty of thunder with brief spell of heavy rain across SE Peterborough around 1330-1345

Looks like another cell may be heading my way from the SW within next 15-30 mins

Thunderstorm moving from southeast, now east of my locality. Thunder first heard at 1400 UT. Lightning observed (or thunder heard) every two to three minutes or so, still ongoing as I type. All CC flashes. Very little precipitation but heavy to the east. Heading NE to roughly the Macclesfield area.

Large black cloud coming across towards Sleaford from south of Grantham. Regular distant thunder heard, getting a bit louder, but storm looks like its going to skim the west of Sleaford. No rain as yet, wind did pick up but its dropped to almost nothing now. Twitter reporting a storm observed from the Newark area.

Thunder heard more frequently last five minutes, once or twice a minute.

Something brewing over the Cheshire Plain towards Chester. Sky now very dark and looks like it's going to be heading here (Runcorn). Frequent sferics heard on long wave.

Frodsham Hill is in the way otherwise I'd be able to see Wrexham/Chester, but yes, the sky is seriously dark over towards Wrexham.

Edit: Looks like a dark rain shadow is coming from the cloud base.

Pete
