That's neat! Thought I had one over the top of Cadair Idris this afternoon, but I think it was just scud, although at the distance involved will need to check the photos!

8 more photo's here http://www.cumnockch.../funnel-vision/ a well documented event as it went over the Drongan Gala day Appears to have been witnessed from Tarbalton (red) then from the A71 near to it Junction with the B730 Stair Road (yellow), It also appears to have been photographed from the Entrance to Ayr Crematorium (Lilac) and by 8 people at the Drongan Gala Day (blue) before the final picture Near to B7046 turn off on B730 just prior to Rankinston (pink) Covering about 7 miles. Paper states hundreds fled the gala day as high winds and heavy rain threw equipment about and flooded the pitch. A Met Office spokesman told the paper it was a Funnel Cloud rather than A Tornado.

Pictures 4 & 5 in the following link are the Tarbalton and Ayr captures of the event. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otland-19162914 I have googled these and they appear to be following the line of the other reports and are relatively close by. Handy when you know the area of an event.
