A rough day ahead to say the least! any transition between mild/cold conditions can mean a bumpy one and this looks particularly nasty for some.Radar revealing all atm, with the main thrust of that squall line currently knocking on the door of our West coast as i type..

Made a point of charging the kit this am, expecting any action to arrive around mid-afternoon.Stay safe folks!

Squall line passed with a 3 °C temp drop had about 10mm rain with more to come. Winds gusty to about 40 mph here. report on local radio mention several trees down in Pinwherry Ayrshire South of Girvan trying to find out some more info on this.

Conditions deteriorating rapidly here - Bristol Channel/Severn Estuary area would be a decent enough vantage point i would've thought as that now more pronounced squall line keeps marching on..

The squall currently looks very impressive on radar, extending almost the lenght of the country. Should blast through here about 6-8pm.

I was just going to post the exact same thought Chris - it's very well defined and maintains that definition over an impressive length.

Seems to be moving quite slowly, maybe 70 - 80 miles in the last three hours. Is it going to speed up or slow down? Not sure that the squall line will pass here before midnight now. The back edge of the cold front only clears the channel late tomorrow morning according to the 12Z FAX.

I'm with you, can't see anything making me stand outside until midnight at earliest. However, the wind is now gusting to I would say 40mph now

Front taking slightly longer to reach here (Fleet) than I expected. The front north from Hants seems to be running slightly slower than further south - you can see the "kink" between the two on the radar (at least I think that's what I'm seeing).

A few hefty showers still knocking about behind the main area of precip out further SE/E, wind has again picked up slightly here - expected a clearance and lull in proceedings tbh, a few more of us getting a soaking well into the night.

It finally went through here around 01.00, nothing very spectacular it seems (I was asleep!) - just a few mins of heavy rain and a wind gust of 30 mph.
