The weather warnings published to this page are based on a number of criteria relevant to the level of danger to life or limb expected and are issued in 5 severities:
No Warning - No severe weather is probable anywhere in the UK
Weather Watch - Marginally severe weather may be possible in the areas noted
Weather Advisory - Severe weather is probable within the regions noted, but not certain
Weather Warning - Severe weather is highly likely and imminent in the regions noted
Weather Flash - Severe weather is occurringnow in the areas noted
